Durand Union Station Schedule of Events

Hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.

All weekend

• Photo displays by Artist Wayne Pickvet and amateur photographer Michael Jordan.

Friday

• 6 p.m.— Railroad Persons of the Year award presentation in the ballroom This year we’re honoring Cliff and Marie Semple.

• Until 6 p.m. — Canadian National’s Little Obie (miniature train) will be in the depot parking lot touting train safety to children.

Saturday and Sunday

• 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Depot is open to the public. Closes at 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Model railroad displays inside and outside the depot. Displays include Durand Union Station Model Railroad Engineers, Steam Railroading Institute, Operation Lifesaver, Michigan Association of Railroad Passengers and Crossroads Village/ Huckleberry Railroad.

• 9 a.m. — Freight Room Cafe open serving snacks and hobo stew

• 10 a.m.-4 p.m. — Ann Arbor Railroad Museum will be open

• 10 a.m.-6 p.m. — Arts & crafts show at the corner of Railroad and Main streets

• 1-4 p.m. — Grand Trunk Railroad Museum on the second floor

• 2 p.m. — Author Imre Quastler will present and sign his new book “Grand Trunk Western An Illustrated History” in the depot ballroom.

• 2 p.m. — Caboose is open to the public.

Sunday

• 8 a.m. Registration for 5K Run/Walk sponsored by Durand Union Station will be held at the Trumbull Park pavilion, near corner of Monroe Road and Saginaw Street. Park at the high school. $15 without shirt, $20 with shirt.

• 11 a.m.-4 p.m. — Model train show at Durand Middle School, 9550 E. Lansing Highway featuring Peninsular Modular Railroad Club and the Capital Area Railway Society.
